Skyfall is the 23rd Bond movie and is the third time Daniel Craig has played James Bond. It has been 50 years since the first Bond film and Skyfall did not disappoint. In Skyfall Bond investigates an attack on MI6 after it is suspected that he is dead. Javier Bardem plays Silva, an ex MI6 operative who is out to kill M as revenge for betraying him in the past. He did an amazing job at taking the role of the Bond villain and many critics have compared his character to Julian Assange. Judi Dench returns to her role playing M for the sixth time. This film was action packed and had a good storyline; it is different from older Bond movies. It didn’t have the cheesy one liners and the bond girl, played by Bérénice Lim Marlohe, was only seen for a few scenes.
The film was very well shot and was set in the United Kingdom a lot as a nod to the 50th anniversary. If you are a fan of the James Bond series then I would highly recommend this movie, everyone I have spoken to who has seen the film has loved it. There are surprise twists and turns and you are taken on a journey throughout MI6 and James Bond’s life. Skyfall was a bit long winded, it was like there were 3 stories in one film but it was very clever. Looking back now I notice different hidden storylines and themes that you don’t think about while watching the movie. The cars and action scenes live up to Bond expectations and definitely deliver. Adele sang the theme song to Skyfall and like all other 007 movies the music was extremely well played throughout the film.
